Employment Connection can help you find a job today!

Northeast Ohio Health, Science & Innovation Coalition

Vacancies in the Northeast Ohio allied health field reflect national statistics, and are expected to reach a crisis level in the near future. The health care industry is the largest provider of employment in the Northeast Ohio area, supplying $3.28 billion dollars and over 109, 000 healthcare related jobs to the Northeast Ohio area.

The Northeast Ohio Health, Science and Innovation Coalition (NOHSIC)’s mission is to build a sustainable system that effectively aligns employer, public and private sector resources for the development, recruitment and retention of a skilled healthcare workforce.

Begun in August 2007, this unique, employer-based coalition proactively works within the Northeast Ohio community to train, recruit and reshape the existing workforce to fill current and future healthcare vacancies.

With over $11 million needed for the next 3 years, NOHSIC will focus on employment growth at all entry points to the market, including: retraining employees new to healthcare to fill vacancies, providing advancement opportunities to incumbent healthcare workers in order to move into leadership roles, and bringing in future employees via internship opportunities.
