Employment Connection has been proactive to keep staff informed of, and adept at using, the newest technology.  We strive to operate at a productive pace, ensuring that staff meets the needs of the employer by meeting the job seeker where they are at and setting in motion a plan for employment success.

On Tuesday, December 8th, a technology workshop was conducted at the downtown Employment Connection location.  The workshop was entitled “Easing the Terror of Technology: What You Need To Know About Business Communication In The 21st Century.”  Susan Logar, an EC Business Services Representative, coordinated this valuable workshop  which covered topics including Wikis, blogs, Facebook, LinkedIn, webinars, Blackberry,Twitter, bluetooth… What are they? Why do you need to know? Could not knowing decrease your workplace value and contribution?

Hamid Abdollahian, Director, Cisco Regional Networking Academy, of Cuyahoga Community College, discussed workforce opportunities through CISCO as well as collaborated with Susan to discuss such topics as:  Wiki, Blogging, Facebook, LinkedIn, Webinars, Blackberry,Twitter, Bluetooth and many more!  The class was innovative, insightful, interesting and engaging.  The workshop was an open forum and the audience of 39 + adults and young adults consisted of both Job Seekers and EC Staff.  Stay tuned for additional opportunities to gain knowledge via peer-to-peer and business-to-consumer (B2C) workshops.
